How we help Schofields

To keep things focused, we work across five core areas. Click any of them below for a Schofields-specific page on how we handle that type of matter.

Traffic Offences From drink driving and speeding through to licence appeals and P-plater suspensions. Typically heard at Blacktown Local Court.

Criminal Law Whether it’s assault, AVOs, drug offences, theft or a first-time charge, we focus on protecting your record and your future.

Family Law Separation, divorce, parenting, property settlements and consent orders. Above all, we keep things calm, quick and child-focused.

Conveyancing House-and-land packages, off-the-plan apartments and townhouses, brand-new builds across the Schofields and Tallawong release areas, and standard residential resales. Fixed-fee from the first call.

Wills and Estates Wills, powers of attorney, enduring guardianship, probate and, where needed, estate disputes.

Why Schofields locals choose us

First, we’re local. Our Bella Vista office is around a 15-minute drive from Schofields — straight down Schofields Road, or alternatively via the M7. On top of that, we appear at Blacktown Local Court regularly and at Parramatta Local Court most weeks. As a result, we know how each list runs, who the registrars are, and what each magistrate expects — so by the time your first appearance comes around, it isn’t anyone’s first day.

Second, we’re small enough to care. From start to finish, you’ll speak to the principal solicitor on every matter — not a different paralegal each call. In most cases, clients reach us within a business day. Beyond that, we offer after-hours appointments when work or family makes business hours impossible.

About the suburb we serve

Schofields has changed beyond recognition over the last twenty years. What was a quiet semi-rural village on the Richmond line has, since the early 2000s, become one of Sydney’s fastest-growing release suburbs — with a population that’s grown by more than 500% between 2001 and 2021, and now sits at around 15,000 residents. The housing tells the story: new-build four-bedroom homes on small lots, house-and-land packages still being completed across the North West Growth Area, and townhouse and apartment developments clustered around the train station and Tallawong Metro.

In terms of who lives there, the demographic skews young, professional and family-focused, with a notably multicultural mix — large and well-established Indian, Filipino, Sri Lankan and Maltese communities, along with newer arrivals from across South and South-East Asia. Two-income households are the norm, mortgages are substantial, and the local school catchments (Schofields Public, Galungara Public, The Ponds High, Quakers Hill High) are still expanding to keep up with the population. Consequently, the work we see from Schofields reflects that mix — conveyancing on brand-new builds and off-the-plan contracts, family law matters involving real assets and superannuation, wills for young families with young children and a mortgage, and the traffic and criminal matters that come with a busy commuter corridor between the M7, Richmond Road and Windsor Road.

Getting to us from Schofields

Our office is in Bella Vista, an easy run from Schofields down Schofields Road or the M7.

By car — around 15 minutes via Schofields Road, or via the M7 in light traffic. Free parking on site. By train and Metro — T1 Richmond line from Schofields station, change at Tallawong for the Metro, then one stop to Bella Vista. From there, we’re a one-minute walk from the platform. By phone or video — alternatively, we offer phone and video consultations for any matter, plus after-hours appointments where needed.

In short, for Schofields clients, we’re a genuinely accessible firm without having to drive into Parramatta or the city.

Frequently asked questions

Which court will my Schofields matter be heard at? Generally, most Local Court matters from Schofields — including traffic charges, AVOs, and lower-level criminal matters — are heard at Blacktown Local Court on Kildare Road. Family law matters, however, are usually filed in the Federal Circuit and Family Court at Parramatta. In either case, we appear regularly.

Do you offer fixed fees? Yes, wherever the matter allows. For instance, conveyancing, simple wills, powers of attorney, and many traffic and some low-level criminal matters are quoted as a fixed fee from the first call. For more complex matters, on the other hand, we give a clear written estimate before any work begins.

How much does the first consultation cost? The first call is free. After that, longer consultations are charged at our standard rate, which we’ll tell you about upfront.

How quickly can I get an appointment? In most cases, clients are booked in within one to two business days. For urgent matters — bail, AVO listings, urgent parenting issues — we’ll see you the same day where we can.

Can I have an after-hours or weekend appointment? Yes. By arrangement, we offer evening and weekend appointments for clients who can’t make it in during business hours.

Do you offer phone or video consultations? Yes — for any matter. In fact, many Schofields clients prefer phone or video for the first consult and only come into the office when documents need signing.

Do you handle house-and-land and off-the-plan conveyancing in Schofields? Yes. In fact, this is a large part of our Schofields work. We regularly act on house-and-land packages, off-the-plan apartments and townhouses, and brand-new builds across the North West Growth Area. Just as importantly, we know which developers are active in the corridor, what to watch for in their contracts (sunset clauses, defect rectification, strata schemes), and how to protect you between exchange and settlement on a build that might still be twelve months away from completion.

What if my matter isn’t in one of your five practice areas? Give us a call. If it’s not something we handle, then we’ll point you toward a local solicitor who does.
