What is heard there
Blacktown Local Court deals with summary criminal matters, traffic offences, AVO applications, bail applications and civil disputes, and can finalise some indictable matters. More serious indictable charges are committed to the District Court at Parramatta. Matters involving anyone under 18 go to the Children’s Court.

Where do I park at Blacktown Local Court?
Westpoint or one of the council car parks. Street parking around Kildare Road is limited and restricted, and collecting a parking fine on the way into court is a genuinely common way to make a bad day worse. The court is also a short walk from Blacktown station on the T1 Western line.
What time should I get there?
Lists start at 9:30am, but arrive by 9:00am. It is a large list, there is a security screening queue, and you need time to find your courtroom and give your name to the court officer. Matters are not called in the order printed, so bring something to do.
I am about to lose my licence and I need it for work. Can anything be done?
Possibly, but not through a work licence, because NSW does not have one. What can be done is appealing a suspension to the Local Court within 28 days, arguing for a shorter disqualification at sentence, or applying to remove a disqualification you have already been serving. Which of those applies depends on your notice, so call and read it to us.
Do I have to come to Bella Vista?
Most clients do the first consultation by phone or video and come to the office once, when documents need signing. If you are attending court and we are appearing, a conference at court can often be arranged instead.
How quickly can I get an appointment?
Usually within one to two business days. For urgent matters, including bail, AVO listings and urgent parenting issues, we will see you the same day where we can. The first call costs nothing.
